The promise
When Paul Perrone’s life was spared on D-Day during World War II, he made a promise to spend the rest of his days helping others. He came home, studied pharmacy at the University of Texas, and in 1952 set out to keep that promise — one patient at a time. His spirit still guides everything we do.
From Camp Bowie to Benbrook Highway
The store started as Perrone & Park on the far west end of Camp Bowie — where a soda fountain made it a neighborhood favorite. In 1958 we moved to our current home at 3921 Benbrook Highway, and we’ve looked after Fort Worth’s west side ever since.
Since 1952
A family business, generations deep
Paul’s family carried the promise forward. His daughter Paula — who grew up working summers in the store and later practiced as a healthcare attorney — leads as CEO. Chief Pharmacist Officer Marcus Zavala, a Benbrook native, has led our pharmacy team since 2018. Today we care for third- and fourth-generation families, some of whom still remember earning a treat for an ‘A’ in conduct.
Independent, and built on trust
While the chains got bigger and more impersonal, we stayed independent and local — and grew into one of the largest independent retail pharmacies in Texas, not through short-cuts but through trust. We answer to our patients and our community, not a corporate headquarters, so there’s never a half-measure when it comes to your care.
Seventy years of adapting
For more than seventy years we’ve evolved with our patients’ needs — navigating drug shortages with compounded alternatives, setting up immunization clinics around the city (we were among the first in the city to offer the Pfizer vaccine after investing in an ultra-cold freezer), and building a 24/7 long-term care and hospice division, PerroneRX, that serves families throughout the Fort Worth and Dallas area.
Approaching 75 years
In 2027 we’ll mark our 75th anniversary — still serving the same Fort Worth families who have trusted us for generations, and welcoming new ones every day.
